It's Beginning to Look a lot like Vacation

Oh Sock Christmas Tree....

Frosty the yellow snowman....

"Observe the bumbles one weakness....the bumble stinks! Ha Ha!

We're looking out for the origin of moonquakes.....

JM has stayed put...that's scary.

What are they going to do when they can't wear their hats in school?

Anyone know what you call a cat on the beach?

Make sure you deck those halls and make a place to store your coal. My spot is all set!

Friday Fun

The Mad Hatter was here again....where is he getting those hats? Hat fever has gripped the room. What are they going to do after the holidays?

We're getting excited about ARBOR DAY! Yes, ARBOR DAY!.

Today's question: Why is it called a flashlight if it stays on?

The classroom has an elf infestitation. They're everywhere.

It is the most wonderful time of the year!

Everybody's Doing a Brand New Dance Now....

Have you done the M&M Dance? Be careful they melt in your mouth and you might drown. You can do the square dance version or the tango version if you're advanced.

JM figured out that Hootie & the Blowfish wanted to "Hold My Hand".

The Flying Monkeys won the poll.

Big dress up day tomorrow.

Who sang the best version of "Santa Claus is Coming to Town"? His band has a capital letter in it's name and then a place you might live.

Happy guessing.

We had a great morning watching the TIGER bullying program. The activity afterwards was a lot of fun. The kids got a great compliment from the person running it.

O = giggles

We were attacked by Santa hat wearers. They were everywhere!

Who wants to "Hold my hand"? you have two choices for that one.

It was just another Manic Monday

It's too quiet without the Big O & HM.

New seating today. The ladies didn't move.

Yo-yo fever has gripped the Clapp-Goodyear. How long will it last?

Did you know that 2 + 2 now equals 6? In our haste to be first we sometimes forget to be correct.

We're in Stave 4 of A Christmas Carol. Getting excited about going next week.

Rumor has it we'll be turning the students in 5D into elves.

I think this picture says it all!

Who sang "It's just another Manic Monday"?

Monday's Random Thoughts

We miss JM. Why is HM leaving OP by herself at her table. Good thing I sat with her.  Who asked, "What makes a muskrat guard its musk?" Are we breathing again after the Pats' win? Manning scares me! Hope the Bruins win tonight. If you have an open mind is there any chance that your brain might fall out?

Where in the world am I?

Random 5D Thoughts

OK Pluto lovers calm down. Dose, dosse, deso, duse, dos anyone know how to spell DOES? Who wants to "Live long & prosper"? Who said "I do believe in spooks. I do, I do, I do!" ? Why do they call someone who invests your money a BROKER? Mr. Heath was asking about trytophan because it's in turkey & it makes us sleepy after the meal.
Enjoying your afternoon? Don't forget to wear that Pats' gear tomorrow.

Learning all kinds of new things about April 19, 1775 and point of view. Scarecrows are almost done and we're still keeping an eye on our NHL teams. Pictures came in today. Class picture came out good. Learned what the word reprimand meant today after a long dictionary hunt.

Here's a question: What's the difference between weather &  climate?

I'd love to be able to explain these pictures.......chocolate mint markers....making vascular plants, multiplying decimals by decimals, The Lemonade War, plural nouns...all the fun things we're doing. Let's not forget the tourists, bugles, islanders, strangers, folks, Pockomoke crowds, outsiders, and NON-LIVERS. Sometimes you just have to lean back in the chair and smile.

Getting Close

Boy did the summer go by fast! The room is all set-up. The rainy days were good for something. I'm still reading a lot. Have you finished your reading yet? Only five people have voted on the poll so far and there are only two weeks left.
I spent last week taking a great course about the beginnings of the American Revolution at Lexington & Concord and in Boston. Lots of cool stuff to share with you.
See you in two weeks!

Hot Enough?

Boy is my electric bill going to be high after this heat. I finished all five summer reading books. I liked them all for the first time since we started doing the Mass book awards. I read Iron Thunder last because I didn't think that I would like it. Like they say "Don't judge a book by its cover". It was really good historical fiction. I enjoyed Truth & Salsa too. I'll list them in order of how I liked them: Iron Thunder, Eleven, Edward's Eyes, Truth & Salsa, and Savvy. That doesn't mean I didn't like Savvy, I did enjoy it.

Finally got the class list, looks like a good group. I hope you're all excited about next school year. We have a lot to do, but hopefully will have fun doing it. Well, I'm going to go work on my garden. I'm growing pumpkins for the first time and I have flowers all over the plant. Stay cool!

Summertime

Happy Summer! Miss my NC hugs! I've already read Savvy, Eleven,  & Edward's Eyes. Really liked Edward's Eyes even though it was sad. Savvy was a fun book. Maybe after everyone reads it we can talk about our own savvys. Eleven has been my favorite so far!  I'm about to start Truth & Salsa. At this rate I'll be finished with all five books by July 1. Can't wait to spend the 4th on the beach. Have a fun & safe 4th!

It's February 18!

Did anyone guess why today is important? There are clues in the poll to the right. This color is also a clue. Vacation has been good. Lot's of reading. I'm into Under the Dome by Steven King right now. It's over 1000 pages. Just finished skating on the neighbor's rink, too slushy. Waiting for the next US Olympic hockey game and Canada's game too. How about some of those US medalists. Shaun White was awesome and Lindsay Vonn was great. I know that someone had the pink haired snowboarder who won bronze. I've even watched a lot of curling. But it's getting warmer out, taht snow is melting quickly. Enjoy the rest of the vacation.
